Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) have been supporting third sector organizations throughout Wales for the past 80 years. In 2004, they launched the Welsh volunteer of the year awards to recognize the tremendous work carried out by volunteers across Wales within the sector. Each year they receive hundreds of nominations from organizations and individuals who want to recognize the achievements of their volunteers.

This year, we nominated our volunteers in recognition of the support they provide to us throughout the year. We are extremely pleased to announce that one of our volunteers was recognized and 'highly commended' for their contribution to volunteering.

Molly has been volunteering with us for the past two years whilst completing her studies. She has worked across a range of areas within the organization and it has been an honor to work alongside her.

I am so happy to see Molly's achievements recognized in this way, she really deserves it.

Upon receiving the awards Molly said

I am humbled to have been nominated for this award... who knew sitting at a desk all day could be so valued. Having the chance to help all of these women over the past 2 years has been so rewarding that it never feels like a chore. I'd like to thank Women's aid RCT for the support and training they have provided me with which has helped me gain tremendous levels of confidence.
