Initially, volunteering was a requirement for my college course, and I felt drawn to working with survivors of domestic abuse.  Women's Aid RCT provided me with this opportunity and supported me to enable me to achieve my counselling qualification.  I continue to volunteer with Women's Aid RCT because I feel that I can make a difference to the service users by offering them a therapeutic and confidential space to talk about their issues.  Volunteering has been very rewarding for me and I feel humble playing a part in helping some of the service users.
