Learning objectives

The learner will:

  • Be able to define what domestic abuse is.

  • Will have an awareness of the effects on adult victims, children and young people.

  • Be aware of how to respond appropriately to a disclosure of domestic abuse.

  • Have an awareness of best practice and have considered effective strategies for working with families where domestic violence is an issue.

  • Have increased awareness of the importance of effective multi-agency practice.
