RCT Domestic Abuse Services is proud to announce the official opening of its new centre in the heart of Pontypridd on Wednesday 24th June, marking an important step forward in strengthening support services for individuals and families affected by domestic abuse across the region.

The opening event will bring together professionals, partners, and stakeholders from across Rhondda Cynon Taf and beyond, providing an opportunity to showcase the organisation’s expanded facilities and reinforce collaborative approaches to supporting vulnerable individuals within our communities.

The day will be divided into two dedicated sessions designed to encourage engagement, partnership working, and improved pathways for support and intervention.

The afternoon strategic stakeholder session will welcome senior leaders, commissioners, and key decision-makers to explore the future direction of domestic abuse services, discuss shared priorities, and highlight the importance of coordinated responses to domestic abuse within local communities.

A second afternoon session aimed at referring partner agencies will focus on strengthening communication between frontline organisations and professionals. The session will provide opportunities to share best practice, improve partnership working, and identify new opportunities for earlier intervention and support for those experiencing domestic abuse.

As part of the day’s programme, a commemorative plaque will be unveiled in memory of Margaret Aberaham, a long-standing Trustee of RCT Domestic Abuse Services. Margaret’s dedication, commitment, and contribution to the organisation over many years played a significant role in supporting the development of services for those affected by domestic abuse across the community. The plaque will serve as a lasting tribute to her valued work and legacy.

The new Pontypridd centre has been developed to provide a welcoming, accessible, and safe environment for service users and hopes to further enhance the quality and responsiveness of support available throughout the area.

The official opening represents not only a celebration of the new facility, but also a renewed commitment to working collectively to prevent domestic abuse, support survivors, and strengthen pathways to safety and recovery.
